Welcome to King Richard III Infant and Nursery School

Please scroll down the page for the Headteacher's WELCOME to the school

We've been asked to share this information with parents:

"We ask schools to strongly advise parents to follow the process and only go to A&E if it is an emergency health issue.  Many parents are still uncertain as to whether their child has developed a normal beginning-of-the-school-year cold or real Covid symptoms."

If your child develops one or more symptoms (high temperature, new continuous cough and loss of/ change to taste or smell) of Covid-19, you should take these actions:

- Most importantly, you and your household should self-isolate

- If you are unclear about the symptoms, go to 111 online (www.111.nhs.uk)

- You should book a test for anyone who has symptoms at the available testing centres

- If you are not able to book a test yet and have, or have recently had, symptoms, you must continue to self-isolate for 10 days from the beginning of onset of symptoms (and household contacts should isolate for 14 days)

- While self-isolating, you should keep trying to obtain a test

- If you're concerned about the health of your child, contact 111 or GP for advice

- If you have had a test and it is inconclusive, you should continue to self-isolate and book another test (if you're still within 5 days of developing symptoms)

We'll keep sharing our most up-to-date RISK ASSESSMENT

If you need to talk about it with someone, please phone the school office and arrange to talk with a member of the school's Senior Leadership Team. Thank you.

There's a really useful page of TikTok safeguarding advice HERE in the light of some distressing videos being shared recently.

Welcome to our website - a message from Ms Harrison, the headteacher at KRIII

A very warm welcome to all visitors to our website! We hope it helps you to get a flavour of our lovely school and our hopes and aspirations for our children, as well as a sense of the pride we take in our rich and vibrant school community.
We are an infant and nursery school in Leicester's West End, tucked away in the heart of the city. Our children and families enrich our school with a broad range of languages and cultures and we place a very strong emphasis on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment which is welcoming to everyone. We offer nursery provision in our Daisy and Sunflower classes, in addition to the 180 places in our Reception and Key Stage 1 classes.
We are absolutely committed to being a fully inclusive school where equality of opportunity is a reality for all and where every child really enjoys their learning. We pay close attention to the different groups within our school to ensure that all - regardless of age, gender, disability, ethnicity or background - are given every opportunity to contribute, learn and achieve to the highest standards. Families work very closely with us to support their children’s learning. We provide adult learning opportunities and support for families during times of need.
We believe that values such as kindness, respect, love and honesty are very important and we work hard to ensure our richly diverse and multicultural community live together in harmony.
We offer a learning culture of high expectations and quality teaching that encourages a growth mindset and a belief that all can succeed. We don’t give up - we can do it! If you'd like to read more about our Curriculum Vision, you can find it HERE.
A group of our Year 2 children said this about the school: "Our school is exciting – you can play and you can talk and you get to meet new friends and help other people. Learning here is really fun because you get better and better at it. Being at our school feels good – you get to do all sorts of things. The building is colourful and cool.

Our October parents' evening questionnaires this year were amazing!

ALL of the parents who completed a questionnaire (exactly 100!) said that their children are happy and feel safe and that we make sure all of our children are well-behaved at King Richards - the overwhelming majority even agreed strongly with these statements.
ALL of our parents said that we deal well and quickly with any concerns they might raise.

EVERY parent of a child with Special Educational Needs said that we give the child the support they need in school.

ALL of our parents said that their children are doing well at school and we let them know how their children are doing.
EVERY parent said that they would recommend our school to another parent.
We have amazing staff and governors, fantastic children and very supportive parents. Thanks go to everyone for their valued input in making the school such a wonderful place to be. We were very pleased with our most recent Ofsted report (June 2017). The full report can be seen by clicking on the Ofsted link on the navigation bar above.
If you would like to visit and see us during the school day, we would be delighted to show you around and answer any questions you may have. Please don’t hesitate to contact the school office to make an appointment. You can read about our school day here.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school.
Ms Harrison (Headteacher)
