PE and School Sport Partnership
At King Richard III Infant and Nursery School, Physical Education is given a high priority and is reflected in the many activities in which we are involved.
The school has always recognised the benefits of a strong Physical Education Curriculum, with extra-curricular activity added wherever we can offer it, to help to raise our young people’s aspirations and self esteem. All of this is also clearly a key ingredient in the battle against childhood inactivity and obesity, encouraging young people and their families to live active and healthy lives.
We are members of the Leicester City School Sport Partnership. We use their expertise, along with that of our own PE leaders, to support us in utilising our Sport Premium to the full.
A year ago, we all trained to deliver RealPE, which is having a big impact on the teaching and learning in school. You'll see pictures and resources for this all around our school hall.
Miss Greaves, Miss Macdonald and Mrs Lawrie lead our PE development.
Meanwhile, Mrs Atkins is taking the morning's Wake and Shake on the KS1 playground from strength to strength this term - we have super days at King Richards!
