PE and School Sport Partnership
At King Richard III Infant and Nursery School, Physical Education is given a high priority and is reflected in many of the activities in which we are involved.
The school has always recognised the benefits of a strong Physical Education Curriculum, with extra-curricular activity added wherever we can offer it, to help to raise our young people’s aspirations and self esteem. All of this is also clearly a key ingredient in the battle against childhood inactivity and obesity, encouraging young people and their families to live active and healthy lives.
We are members of the Leicester City School Sport Partnership. We use their expertise, along with that of our own PE leaders, to support us in utilising our Sport Premium to the full.
Before the pandemic, we all trained to deliver RealPE, which has had a big impact on the teaching and learning in school.
Miss Greaves and Mrs Golding lead our PE development.
Sustainable sports and PE development
In our planning for sports and PE development, we follow government guidance in ensuring that our outcomes will be sustainable as we move forward.
Often this is through the equipment we source for children to use in PE lessons and at breaktime.
Equally, we know that we will see desirable outcomes from our investment in staff training (CPD).
