Newsletter for King Richard III Infant and Nursery School - Wednesday 14th December 2022

Dear parents, carers, families and friends,

The last week of the autumn term is bringing all the Christmas excitement we’re used to at King Richards – I know you’ve enjoyed the opportunities to come into school and to see some of the things going on. It was great to hear about the success of the Winter Fair – many thanks to everyone who was involved in making that into such an enjoyable event!

Today is Christmas Dinner day, which is also a very welcome event, with Christmas parties and performances happening through the week too. The children are doing a great job throughout, even though they’re ready for a rest once the term finishes. Don’t forget that this Friday is the last day of term – school reopens to the children on Wednesday 4th January.

As this term ends, we’re saying a very fond farewell to Mrs Gadhvi. Mrs Gadhvi has worked as a very highly-valued member of the team at King Richards for a very long time – since 1989! She’s been very dedicated to the school for the 33 years since then, but is looking forward to spending her retirement with her grandchildren. We will miss you, Mrs Gadhvi!

Mr Sarwar is also moving on at the end of this term and taking up a very different role. He has asked me to share part of his letter about this next step:

“I will not be returning in the new year, as I have taken on a new role as a SEN Case Manager. I will miss all of you and your wonderful children but look forward to what this new adventure will have in store. I am deeply saddened to be leaving as I have had the most amazing experience at King Richard III Infant School. I can say with complete honesty that the children of King Richard III Infant School are the best pupils I have ever met. We have children who are full of compassion and who care for one another. They make me extremely proud and I know they will all go on to do great things in later life.
Although I am sad to be leaving, I am excited about the future and the next chapter. I wish the families of King Richard III Infant School all the best.
Mr Sarwar”

We wish Mrs Gadhvi and Mr Sarwar happy days ahead and will be sending positive thoughts to them for their new adventures in 2023!

We’ve been struggling with lots of bugs, colds and viruses for poorly staff and children over the last few weeks – I’m grateful to everyone for doing such a good job of looking after each other and for getting into school as much as possible. (And thank you to everyone for your kind words this week when I’ve seen you at the gates!)

As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do get in touch and let us know.

In the meantime, stay healthy and happy – have a lovely Christmas break and we’ll look forward to seeing you in 2023 ðŸ˜Š
