World Book Day newsletter - March 2024

World Book Day!

Next week is World Book Day but at KRIII we have decided to celebrate World Book Week!

We are going to be having lots of exciting reading events throughout the week.

  • On Monday your child will be making a hat or crown which represents their favourite book.
  • On Tuesday we will have different adults reading to the children.
  • On Wednesday we will be swapping teachers so the children can listen to another adult reading their favourite story.
  • On Thursday we will be having a World Book Day Assembly and everyone will 'stop and read' at 10am.
  • On Friday we will be having reading buddies so the older children will be going to read with a younger child in school.

We are also going to be having a reading competition so please use your child's reading diary and get them to read to you every day. If you sign in the diary your child will get a certificate at the end of the week. A picture of your child's reading diary is below.

If your child would like to dress up for World Book day they can wear a book related costume on Thursday. They don't have to do this as all of the children will be making crowns and hats so please do not go and buy anything especially for this.
