Newsletter for 17th June 2024

Dear parents, carers, families and friends,

The sun is shining as I write this, and we’ve optimistically set a new date for Sports Day for our  Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children!

We’re hoping that it will now take place at 1.30pm on Monday 1st July – everyone is welcome to join us on the field next to the KS1 playground. Here’s hoping the weather continues to be helpful 😊

A reminder that you need to let us know if your email address has changed, please – as I’ve mentioned before, we’ll be sending our end of year reports for all of our children by email, so please do get in touch asap if you’ve changed your address recently.

Thursday this week is ‘Clean Air Day’. You can find out more information about this here: https://www.actionforcleanair.org.uk/campaigns/clean-air-day and we’ll be talking to the children about air pollution on the day. I appreciate that lots of you need to drive to work after dropping off your children, but it may be that you can make arrangements to walk to school on this one day? You might find other actions you could take instead if you follow the link.

Last of all, I want to send my sincere thanks to everyone who has stopped to talk to us so kindly and supportively about our recent Ofsted report.

It’s been wonderful to hear so many warm comments about the school and the work that we do. We will keep doing all of the things that you value so much, but we will also get better at doing the things that Ofsted pinpointed when they visited.

We can always do better – that’s true of everyone! – and we’re determined that we’re going to be the best at being better. Thank you again for your support and kindness.

Here’s hoping for a sunny week ahead –

Ms Harrison

Headteacher at King Richard III Infant and Nursery School
