Wednesday 2nd October 2024
Dear parents, carers, families and friends,
Thank you for all of the smiles and greetings on the school gates at the start and end of the day, whatever the weather! Thank you, too, to parents who have stopped to talk about things on their mind.
Yesterday, I talked with parents about their traffic concerns – about Monday night’s horrible and angry traffic jam at the end of Andrewes Street. Yesterday afternoon, we could see how much better things are when people are showing thought and care towards each other. It would be good to see this safe behavior even when a police/traffic officer isn’t there, watching.
Please take care in your cars on the streets around the school – we all want all of our children to stay safe.
Some parents have also expressed concerns about the queues at the school gates in the morning and afternoon. Many would be grateful if you didn’t smoke in the queue, please.
Love Leicester – fly tipping
In last week’s governing body meeting, there was a discussion about the litter and fly tipping in the areas around the school. You may have seen me taking photos of rubbish left across the road from the playground gates sometimes. This is so that the rubbish can be reported – and then collected – via the Love Leicester app. Please think about downloading this onto your phone too, so that you can report rubbish when you see it – it is so much nicer for all of our families coming to school when you don’t have to step around piles of litter.
Reporting to the police
In the same way, if you’re concerned about anti-social behavior – drug-dealing, for instance – this is the URL to use to report it: https://www.leics.police.uk/report-online or you can report anonymously here: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously or here 0800 555 111
Thank you for helping us to make the school environment and the community around us better and safer.
Last but not least…
Parents evening meetings
Look out for a notice on ReachMoreParents/Weduc today – parents evening meetings will be held in the week before half term.
As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do get in touch or talk to us on the gates at the start and end of the day.
Many thanks –
Ms Harrison and the KRIII team.
