EYFS Statement
Welcome to Our Infant and Nursery School!
At our school, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is a framework used across England to support young children’s learning and development from birth to age five. It helps every child get the best possible start in life.
The EYFS helps your child to:
Learn and grow through play and exploration
Build warm relationships with adults and other children
Develop language, communication, and social skills
Become confident, independent, and ready for school.
There are seven key areas that we focus on:
Prime Areas:
Communication and Language – understanding and using language
Physical Development – moving confidently and staying healthy
Personal, Social and Emotional Development – building self-confidence, managing feelings, and making friends
Specific Areas:
4. Literacy – enjoying stories, books, and early writing
5. Mathematics – exploring numbers, counting, and shapes
6. Understanding the World – learning about people, communities, and the natural world
7. Expressive Arts and Design – using imagination through music, art, and play.
We believe children learn best when parents and teachers work together. You are always welcome to:
Share information about your child’s interests and needs
Talk to us about how your child is getting on
Take part in school activities and events.
If you ever need help understanding school information, we’re happy to support you. Our aim is to make sure every child feels happy, safe, and excited to learn.
