KRIII Newsletter for 9th September 2025

Dear Parents and Carers, Families and Friends,

Congratulations on a great start to the new school year! It's been lovely to see everyone settling back into school, and great to greet lots of new starters across the year groups.

You are all very welcome!

🎉 New entrance to the School Office

Congratulations, too, on working so well with the new entrance system on the nursery side of school. It's making everything so much safer for everyone, and I'm grateful to everyone for their hard work in setting up new systems and making them work. Thank you!

Tired children

On a learning walk this morning, I was really surprised to see so many very tired children in class! It makes a huge difference to your child's learning if they can get a good night's sleep at the end of every day - ideally, spending time without playing on a phone or a tablet before bed.

You might find the advice here useful: https://cambspborochildrenshealth.nhs.uk/sleep

For children in the KRIII age range, they suggest the following:

Children 3 to 5 years old - 10 to 13 hours (including naps)
Children 6 to 12 years old - 9 to 12 hours

Of course, you know your child best and will understand what they need, but there are lots of sources of advice and support if you need it. Just let us know.

Looking forward to seeing many more less sleepy children this week! ðŸŒž

With warmest wishes,

 Ms Harrison

Headteacher at KRIII
