PE and Sport Premium

Physical Education at King Richard III Infant and Nursery School

Why PE is important at our school

Physical Education (PE) is very important at our school. We believe that sport and physical activity help children in many ways.

What PE does for your child

PE helps your child to:

  • Feel good about themselves
  • Build confidence
  • Stay healthy and active
  • Learn new skills
  • Make friends

PE activities at school

Your child will do PE lessons during school time. We also offer extra sports activities when we can.

Keeping children healthy

We know that many children today do not move enough. PE helps children stay active and healthy. We want to help your whole family live an active life.

Support we get

We work with other schools in Leicester to make our PE even better. We get help from sports experts to give your child the best PE experience.

Questions?

If you have any questions about PE at our school, please ask your child's teacher or come to the school office.

 =======================================================================================
We are members of the Leicester City School Sport Partnership. We use their expertise, along with that of our own PE leaders, to support us in utilising our Sport Premium to the full. Miss Greaves and Mrs Golding lead our PE development.

Sustainable sports and PE development

In our planning for sports and PE development, we follow government guidance in ensuring that our outcomes will be sustainable as we move forward.

Often this is through the equipment we source for children to use in PE lessons and at breaktime.

Equally, we know that we will see desirable outcomes from our investment in staff training (CPD).
