The Government provides an additional Pupil Premium grant, on top of core school funding, to help address the persistent inequalities faced by disadvantaged pupils. This includes pupils eligible for free school meals (FSM) and children who have been in care, ensuring that targeted funding reaches those who need it most.
Schools have discretion over how the Pupil Premium is spent. However, we are accountable for demonstrating the impact of this funding on outcomes for pupils from low-income families.
Historically, our Pupil Premium pupils have outperformed the national ‘other’ group (pupils not eligible for Pupil Premium) each year. In recent academic years, this trend has shifted. Further detail is set out in our 2025–28 Pupil Premium Strategy Statement.
